Welsh comedian and Westcountry favourite David Arnold brings his debut show, Late Bloomer, to the SU Small Room at Plymouth University Students’ Union. The intimate space puts audiences close to David’s funny and personal journey through life as one of its slow starters.

Introducing David Arnold Like a lot of things in life David started stand-up comedy later than most, making his debut on his 34th birthday. Although it didn’t take long for him to establish himself on the alternative comedy scene. Within his first year, he reached the finals of new act competitions in Wales, England, and Scotland, and went on to support well-known comedians while performing at comedy clubs and festivals throughout the UK. In recent years he has written for BBC radio, performed at the London Palladium and has become one of the UK’s most sought-after acts on the cruise ship circuit performing internationally on some of the Worlds biggest cruise lines.

This performance is part of Plymouth Comedy Festival, taking place across the city from 5 to 7 February 2027. David Arnold’s show is one part of a packed Sunday programme spread across university spaces and venues throughout Plymouth.
